Tovolea were crowned the champions of the Great Eight sevens tournament after defeating Tabadamu 19‑14 in the final yesterday.

The Nadroga side lead 12‑0 at halftime.

Tabadamu, which had national reps Setefano Cakau and Sitiveni Waqa hit back after the break with two converted tries.

Tovolea sealed the victory with a try to later in the second half.

Tovolea had earlier caused a major upset beating defending champions Wardens Gold with a 17‑12 win in the semi‑final.

Tabadamu beat Tokatoka Westfield Dragons 26‑7 in the second semifinal.

Meanwhile the eight teams that have qualified for the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s which will be held on November 13th to the15th at the same venue are Tovolea, Tabadamu, Red Rock, Police, Wardens Gold, Tokatoka Westfield Dragons, Wardens Green and Western Suburbs.
