An estimated 40 thousand people packed Albert Part last night to welcome 2010 at the annual Legend FM Fiji Street party.
With people from all walks of life dancing the night away it was a sight to remember as the countdown ended with a huge fireworks display.
Several tourists were also at the Street party and had come from Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
One of the first families to arrive at Albert Park yesterday came all the way from Waidina in Nitasiri.
They set up their tent and brought their lovo food and grog with the entire family to welcome the new year.

And it’s that time of the year again when people make new year resolutions and set themselves goals and targets for the new year.

Meanwhile, Villages of Burelevu-i-cake of Tavuki in Kadavu celebrated 2010 with a feast and beating of drums which started last night and ended this morning.
Villager, Akariva Vesavesa said they went to church before the dancing and singing started as the clock strucked 12 midnight to celebrate together with the children and the elders.
Vesavesa said his New Year resolution is to be a better father to his children.
Meanwhile, ten families from around Labasa had a day out at Nukutatava Camp-site, towards Savusavu and enjoyed to celebrate new years day.
One resident, Joji Waqata said it is so wonderful to see people sit down and mingle and even eat together on the first day of 2010.
Nukutatava is Christian campsite.
