A 49yr old tourist from America died at around 10 this morning after he was hit by the propeller of a boat.
Deputy Director Police Operations, SP Erami Raibe said the tourist was diving in Qamea waters when a fibre glass boat's propeller hit the man's head, killing him instantly.
A team of Crime Scene Officers and pathologists from Suva have been flown to Taveuni to investigate the matter.
It is still unclear whether the boat driver is a hotel worker or a villager.
Meanwhile, police in Moala are investigating the discovery of a human leg in Moala this morning.
Some villagers discovered the leg this morning.
Police are trying to determine whether anyone is missing from that area.
