The Tourist VAT Refund Scheme comes into effect from next Monday and the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA) is doing the final touches to see that everything is in order when tourists lodge applications for VAT refund.
FIRCA Chief Executive Jitoko Tikolevu said all the shopping outlets that have been given licenses will have to provide the tourists with invoices.
Tikolevu said their booths will be set up at the Nadi Airport and at the Suva wharf where tourists will be able to apply for VAT refund before they leave our shores.
The Tourist VAT Refund Scheme policy was announced in this year's National budget address.
