Tourist Arrivals Continue To Grow
Tourism Fiji's Chairman Patrick Wong said although there has been alot of negativity casted over Fiji and with travel advisory issued by the New Zealand government, tourist numbers continue to grow especially from NZ.
Meanwhile Interim Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the travel advisory for its citizens put in place by the New Zealand Government is completely inaccurate and misleading.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the travel advisory highlights issues which are irrelevant to the safety of tourists in Fiji.
The New Zealand government is now advising its citizens that there is some risk to their security in Fiji and for them to take caution following the expulsion of the Acting High Commissioner Caroline McDonald.
The revised travel advisory said the expulsion could lead to increased tensions and New Zealanders in Fiji are advised to exercise particular caution and maintain a low profile.
