Tourism industry needs to remain vigilant.
This is according to Tourism Minister Aiyaz Saiyad Khaiyum after Fiji recorded the highest number of tourists ever for the month of April with 44,996 visitors compared to last year’s April record of 39,302.
Khaiyum said that the tourism industry should not be complacent with the results and maintain the results with further improvements in services.
Meanwhile, President of the Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association Dixon Seeto said the result for the month of April reflects Governments good investment in the industry.
Seeto said the industry need to increase the numbers of emerging markets other than the main markets of Australia and New Zealand.
