The tourism industry is bouncing back and is expected to deliver the desired results this year.
A lot is dependent on tourism as it brings in the much needed foreign reserves for the country.
Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the tourism industry is expected to have a strong finish in 2009.
Sayed-Khaiyum also said it is clear that the travel advisories by some countries are not discouraging people.
A few examples are the hosting of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Conference in Nadi earlier this month and the All Blacks captain Richie McCaw and top NZ players Daniel Carter and Jimmy Cowan coming to Fiji for a holiday last week.
Visitor arrivals totaled 58,166 for the month of July.
The July figure includes a record breaking 24,729 Australians, which is an increase of more than 3,000.
13,168 New Zealanders visited our shores in July.
