The Interim Minister for Tourism and Environment, Bernadette Rounds Ganilau said in an attempt to help our Tourism industry she has put in a bid to host a United Nations Environment Program regional meeting here in Fiji next year.
After returning from the 20th Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol in Canada, which is primarily focused on Ozone Depleting Substances and the Prevention of this, Rounds Ganilau has revealed that a possible regional meeting could happen come July or August next year.
Also Rounds Ganilau had earlier said that Fiji will not be able to come any where close to the hoped for target of 650,000 visitor arrivals at this point in time but the tourism ministry and industry partners are working towards achieving the same targets as last year.
