When the Tourists come to Fiji, the money does not come down to the grass-root levels.
That is the sentiment of the Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum while opening the Dolphin Tourism Joint Venture for the people of Drau-ni-ivi with the Khadar Buksh Buses Limited.
Our reporter who was at the opening, Selina Navuso explained that in the partnership, the bus company owned by Nazir Ali Shah will bring the tourists to the village of Drau-ni-ivi in Rakiraki will take the tourists to dolphins just off the coast of the village.
Saiyed Khaiyum praised the joint venture saying that the landowners are utilizing their natural resources to earn income for themselves.
He also stressed that this would mean more responsibilities for the villagers.
