Tourism Fiji is optimistic to have increased number of visitors in the country from Australia and New Zealand by the end of this year.
Chairman Patrick Wong said the Australian and Kiwi tourist figures are bouncing back slowly and they hope to see an increase next month with the festive season approaching.
Wong said so far Fiji has seen 280,000 visitors from January to July this year whereas the figure for last year in the same period was more than 398,400.
He said they are also spreading their wings in the Asian and European markets and exploring ways to attract more tourists from these continents.
He said more tourists coming to Fiji repeat their visits however they hope to get 700,000 new arrivals by December.
