Tourism Fiji is optimistic that hotel occupancy rates will improve from this month to October this year.
Chairman Patrick Wong said they are expecting good visitor arrivals from the neigbouring countries like Australia and New Zealand as the weather is cold there.
Wong said the visitors prefer to come to Fiji and enjoy the sunshine.
Meanwhile, Reserve Bank of Fiji has stated in its latest report that while visitor arrivals continue to perform lower than last year, the industry expects the hotel occupancy rates to improve to around 70 percent in the months ahead.
The current hotel occupancy rate stands at an average of 40 percent.
