The 12 top IRB Sevens teams playing in the Hong Kong Sevens next month will have to score a lot of points in their respective pool games to have an easy passage in the quarterfinals.

With the new structure of the Hong Kong Sevens released this morning, the Cup competition features the current 12 Sevens World Series core teams, who were drawn into three pools - A, B and C.

Following the draw, Pool A includes Samoa, England, Argentina and Kenya.

Pool B features Series leaders New Zealand, South Africa, Wales and USA with Pool C features Fiji, Australia, France and Scotland.

Each pool winner will automatically qualify for the Cup quarterfinals but their ranking will depend on the points they score.

The rest of the 5 teams to qualify for the Cup quarterfinals will be ranked according to the points they scored and the points against them.

The number 1 team which scored the most points will meet the 8th spot team in the quarterfinal.

While the number two team meets the 7th spot team and so forth.

The Hong Kong Sevens is schedule for the 23rd to the 25th of March.
