The road for the Digicel Fiji Sevens Team to do well in the FORU Sevens tournament in Apia this weekend will be tougher than last week.

The Josateki Savou coached side lost in the Marist Sevens semifinal and is grouped in a tough pool with Tonga, PNG, American Samoa and New Caledonia this weekend in Apia.

On the other side of the draw, host Samoa will have to face Australia, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Niue.

In this tournament, Fiji is sending a young side with players like Lepani Veivuke, Waisale Lagilagi, Apakuki Vuaviri, Timoci Davu, Joji Ragamate, Sevuloni Lutu, Aporosa Tabulawaki and Semi Ratudradra who are yet to play in an IRB Sevens tournament.

The likes of Watisoni Votu, Setefano Cakau and Livai Ikanikoda are the seasoned players in the team.

Fiji’s first game in the FORU Sevens tournament is against Tonga on Saturday.
