Tough road ahead for Army Green
Army Green will go in today as firm favorites boasting some former national reps with the likes of captain Dale Tonawai, Timoci Volavola, Aminiasi Nava, Napolioni Naulia, Aisake Katonibau and Sevuloni Lutu.
Team manager Joe Tauriwau said they will take each game as it comes.
The 36 year old Marist Sevens tournament started in 1976 with 6 teams contesting 6 cartons of beer.
The tournament has now grown to a different level with 64 teams participating for the $35,000 prize.
Other top teams taking part in the two day tournament include Red Rock, Wardens, Digicel Fiji Barbarians, Defending champions Army Green, Police, Ratu Filise and Uprising.
The first match kicks off at 8am between Army Green and Bennet Exile rugby.
