Top teams taking part at the Coral Coast 7s, tipped to head their various pools, have won their games so far in the first round of competition at Lawaqa Park except Red Rock.

These include Navy, captained by Nikola Matawalu, beat Bainivualiku 19-5, Police with Etonia Naba and coached by Manasa Bari beat Saunaka 12-7, Samurai Barracudas with the services if Sailosi Naiteqe Senior beat Warwick 12-7.

A very strong game was displayed by Hideaway and Auckland Marist.

The Auckland Marist team are the current champions of the 7s tournament in New Zealand that ended last week.

Their match ended in a 7-all draw with Hideaway, which is a team made up of almost all the Nadroga reps.

In the games that have just ended, Waisale Serevi’s, Team Serevi beat Nasolo Young Boys 10-5 and Natabua beat the Lomaiviti Fijians team from New Zealand by 12-5.

Earlier today, Yalovata beat the defending champions Red Rock by 14-7, Army beat Uprising 24-19, Navosa beat Ratu Filise 14-nil and Wardens beat Wellington 21-5.
