“Let’s not be trapped by what the overseas commentators and 7s rugby coaches say about the talent in our 7s rugby team.”

Those are the comments of Fiji’s most successful Rugby World Cup coach and former Wallabies 7s and 15s rep, Ilivasi Tabua.

In the talk back show on our sister station, Viti FM yesterday callers asked Tabua why the Fiji 7s team is not doing well in the IRB 7s series although the likes of NZ 7s coach, Gordon Tietjens, former captain Eric Rush and even David Campese talked about the huge number of 7s rugby talent in the country.

Tabua said it is for coaches to train these talented players to become a team player which will bring some difference to their game.
