Fiji has too many agencies involved in natural disaster management which is a challenge in implementing proper disaster risk reductions plans.
This is according to a report compiled by the University of New South Wales Environmental Science Research Associate Anna Gero, focusing on the Challenges of Integrating Disaster Risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Pacific.
Gero said there is a need to understand the roles and partnerships of stakeholders to help with the implementation of effective disaster aid.
Meanwhile, the Department of Environment's National Coordinator, Sele Tagivuni said the report will assist Government in providing new directions for Disaster risk reduction.
