Tongan prime Minister Dr. Feleti Sevele is yet to confirm if he will be attending the Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting to be hosted by Fiji next month.

Dr. Sevele is currently in the country to hold talks with Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and Senior Government Officials as a follow up after the meeting of the Ministerial Contact Group on Fiji held in Auckland last month.

It has been confirmed that Tonga along with other non-member states have been invited to the MSG meeting, however Dr. Sevele's Press secretary and Political Advisor

Speaking to radio Australia, Dr. Sevele said it is a matter he will discuss with the Fiji authorities but stressed that despite the diplomatic standoff between Fiji on one hand and the metropolitan nations of Australia and New Zealand on the other, Pacific Island states shouldn't have to choose sides.
