As Fiji gets ready to file papers to extradite Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara to Fiji, the Tongan government said its Navy carried out a simple rescue mission and there was no deliberate plot to take Ratu Tevita out of Fiji.
Communications Director for Tonga's Prime Minister, Ahongalu Fusimalohi said there is nothing sinister about what has happened.
However Fiji's Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has made it clear that Ratu Tevita was illegally extracted from the Fiji waters, one nautical mile northwest of Cape Washington in Kadavu.
When questioned on the Tongan Navy entering the Fiji waters, Fusimalohi said he has to speak to the country's navy.
Fusimalohi also stressed that Tonga has not granted immunity to Ratu Tevita Mara.
