The Tonga rugby side has maintained their winning record against Fiji in the IRB Pacific Nations Cup competition.

They have been winning for the past two years and made it three in a row after beating the Flying Fijians by 27 points to 16 in Nuku'alofa today.

Fiji were leading 13-7 at halftime but Tonga produced one of their best performances in the second half to seal their first ever victory in this season's competition.

A loss will see Fiji slip to 11th place in the IRB World Rugby Rankings and could also finish in either 4th or 5th place in the Pacific Nations Cup. But this will depend on the result from the Samoa / Japan match tomorrow in Apia.
