The body of a 2 year 7 month old girl from Viseisei village was recovered from the Vuda Marina area earlier this afternoon.

The girl went missing while playing with her friends’ yesterday afternoon.

A team of police officers were searching for the toddler around Viseisei village from last night.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said a post mortem will now be conducted before they say anything further on the death of the young girl.

Naisoro earlier confirmed that the girl was playing with her friends in the presence of her 36 year old mother and neighbours. 

After some time the mother looked for her daughter and when she failed to find her, a search was conducted.

Meanwhile Police say two students who were last known leaving for the Hibiscus Festival have been reported missing from their homes.

Sixteen year old Yashmira Sahana Kaur was last seen at 9am Saturday leaving home with her mother for Albert Park. 

She was to accompany her mother to work at a stall however she failed to return home after work at 9pm. 

In a separate incident 15 year old Mosese Bale who resides at Nanuku Settlement has been missing from home since 7pm Saturday. 

A security officer of Vomo Street, Lautoka, Soliki Lakalaka has also been reported missing since the 3rd of this month. 

Soliki was last seen leaving his home in Delainavesi for work in Lautoka.
