There is a need to eradicate filariasis from Fiji and this can be done through people making an effort to take the tablets.
These are the words of National Mass Drug Administration Program Coordinator Ravinesh Chetty who is urging people to visit their nearest health centres to collect their tablets today, as it is the last day of the program.
He adds there are more than 250 people in the country who are affected with complications from filariasis.
Meanwhile, a survey carried out by the National Filariasis Centre indicates that filariasis is more prevalent in the outer islands.
