Today is World Daffodil Day, a day which reminds people to live a healthy life to avoid getting cancer.

A cancer survivor, Aklesh Ram Chetty said Daffodil is a yellow flower which is the international symbol of hope for all people touched by cancer as spring brings re-growth and regeneration, the Daffodil reminds that there is Life after a diagnosis of cancer.

22 year old Chetty who was diagnosed with the lower abdominal cancer two years ago said he went through extensive treatment here, fought the disease and is now living a healthy life.

Chetty said it is sad to see that in Fiji, cancer is seen as a stigma and friends and family instead of supporting the patient leave them to fight the disease alone.
