Police are calling on parents to take their children to hospital when they are sick.

This follows the death of a 3 months old baby girl in Qauia Lami over the weekend.

Police Media Liaison officer, Atunaisa Sokomuri said the baby girl was sick for the last three days however the parents never took her to a doctor. Her condition deteriorated and she passed away yesterday.

This is just one of a number of cases whereby young children have not be taken to hospital when they were sick.

A 6 months old baby in Nausori died last week after he was sick for a long period of time, however was not taken to hospital for treatment.
