Deputy Nadi mayor Timoci Koroiqica is now the mayor of Nadi.
Koroiqica who is a representative of the National Federation Party was elected unopposed last night.
Two councilors from NFP, Sanjeet Patel and Dharmesh Motiram, and also a FLP councilor Liliana Keith Reid were barred from entering the council meeting last night as they failed to attend three consecutive meetings.
Another three FLP councilors, Atul Gosai, Roshan Ali and Mohini Anthony walked out of the meeting in support of these councilors.
Suspended councilor Liliana Keith Reid told Village News after the elections that they will take legal advice on this matter.
