The Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou says the increased budget of $2 million for the development of rural sporting complexes is one of the most important allocations they have gotten for next year.

Tuitubou says it is timely because people have been expecting projects in their areas to finish soon.

The $2 million allocation in the 2016 budget will help continue the work on the rural sporting complex at Vunisea in Kadavu and Sawaieke in Gau.

Tuitubou says making sure that the projects are properly completed will now be their focus.

Government has allocated $400,000 to develop 10 rural playing fields in 2016.
