It’s time for girl power.
Fiji Under 12 soccer player Maria Lewavuni wants to be a top player in the Danone Cup soccer tournament in France next month.
11-year-old Lewavuni is one of the two females included in the Fiji Under 12 soccer team.
Under Danone Cup soccer tournament rules each team must have two females in the squad.
Lewavuni who goes to Saint Theresa's Primary School in Ba, is keeping high hopes that Fiji will do wonders in France, the tournament sponsored by one of the soccer legends Zinedine Zidane.
Lewavuni said she is not ashamed of playing alongside the boys instead she has been learning alot from them.
The Fiji Under 12 side departs for France on Saturday.
