Wests Tigers players shed tears on the field after they found out little more than an hour before kickoff against the Sydney Roosters yesterday that the mother of their captain Robbie Farah had lost her battle with cancer.

The emotional Tigers side lost 42-28 to the Roosters and had their seven-match winning streak come to an end yesterday.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast Titans defeated Panthers by 36-18, Cronulla Sharks beat the New Zealand Warriors 20-19, Rabbitohs thrashed the Eels by 24-6, Cowboys beat Broncos 12-0 and Bulldogs edged the Dragons 28-20.

Meanwhile, the Manly Sea Eagles will face the Melbourne Storm at 9 tonight.
