Tietjens wary of Fiji
Guess what, this comment came from the mouth of New Zealand Sevens coach Gordon Tietjens.
He is keeping his fingers crossed that Fiji does not meet his side at any stage of the tournament after seeing their progress to the Cup quarterfinals.
Tietjens said this World Cup Sevens means a lot to him as they last won it eight years ago but at the same time he is wary of the Fiji team.
One of Fiji’s most experienced players Vilimoni Delasau said this team is better than the 2005 team and said they are improving game by game.
Barring any upset now in the Cup quarterfinals, Fiji is likely to again lock horns with New Zealand in the final.
The two teams also played the final in the 2005 tournament, which Fiji won by 29 points to 19.
