IRB sevens series most successful coach, Gordon Tietjens describes the opening tournament in Gold Coast today as the toughest he has been to in the 13 years of competition.
Tietjens said that all of the teams will want to start well in the new season but for his players it is important they have to be consistent throughout.
He believes that to be in the same pool with Niue, Fiji and Kenya does not come easy for his team although they are the defending champions.
For Fiji they wrapped up their preparations yesterday with assistant coach, Eddy Waqa fielding seasonal players like Emosi Vucago, Miti Nacagilevu, Osea Kolinisau and Joeli Lutumailagi as his trump card against Niue this afternoon at 5.25pm.
Second pool game is against Kenya at 8.31pm and the last pool game with New Zealand at 12.14am tomorrow.
