All Blacks sevens coach Gordon Tietjens said he has confidence in the four potential debutants in his 12‑man squad for the New Zealand 7s this weekend.

Dylan Collier, Rieko Ioane, Jack Goodhue and Beaudein Waaka are all in line for their first cap when the tournament kicks off on Friday.

Ioane is the brother of former New Zealand sevens player Akira Ioane who also made his debut at the New Zealand 7s last year.

Tietjens said it is good to have new and exciting youngsters in the side especially when they make their debut in the New Zealand 7's.

Meanwhile Ioane who was outstanding in college competition says his parents were proud of his achievements.

Meanwhile veteran Tomasi Cama and Lote Raikabula have been dropped from the team.

The New Zealand 7's kicks off this Friday with Fiji taking on Portugal at 12.03pm, face Wales at 2.58pm before taking on Australia at 5.54pm in their last pool game.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 12.28pm Saturday, the Cup semi finals will be at 4.12pm while the Cup final kicks off at 7.55pm Saturday.
