Australian Thunderbolts and National coach, Michael O’Connor will use the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament to prepare the Australian 7s team for the IRB 7s tournament in Wellington next month.
O’Connor said the Australians have been entertaining the world of 7s for quite some time and they know that playing in a tournament in Fiji is the toughest hunting ground for any team.
Meanwhile, Auckland 7s veteran, Amasio Raoma stressed to his team-mates that to do well in any tournament they should always respect their opponents.
The Auckland Invitational side plays their first game against Courts Ratu Filise at 10:44am tomorrow while the Aussie Thunderbolts meet Blue Gas Lautoka at 12:12pm.
The Uprising Fiji International 7s men’s competition kicks off at 10am tomorrow at the TFL National Stadium between the Digicel Fiji Barbarians and Jokhan Realtors Marist.
