Meanwhile, the first record of Day One was in the Intermediate Boys 400m where Benamino Maravu from Saint Bedes College who ran in a time of 49.01seconds breaking the old record of 49.06sec.
Intermidiate Girls High Jump where Suva Grammar's Diama Maramanikaibau broke a ten year old record and set a new distance of 1.65metres with the old record standing at 1.63m set back in 1998 by Xavier College student Rosalia Raqeto.
As expected the heats of the 4x100mtrs was a build up to what is to be a thriller this afternoon when the finals take place.
The ACS 4x100 meters senior girl's team is not only out for a win this during the finals but are aiming to break the record.
ACS top sprinter Seleima Baleivesi said this is the target that they have set for themselves.
Meanwhile the Marist Brothers High School's 4x100 meters team said they will not go out without a fight.

The defending champions in the girls division ACS who are trying to make it ten years in a row are facing difficulty especially since ACS lost in the 3000m where Melaia Bola of Wainimaktu Secondary took out the Gold, silver going Meresieni Naidau of Nadarivatu Secondary and Laisaini Cawai of Ba Santan College taking Bronze.
Meanwhile, favourite and ACS Golden girl Akesa Drotini was not placed in the race.
This is second race where Drotini failed to grab any medal where yesterday in 1500m she was not placed as well.
Games organiser, Vuli Waqa said today competition will be really tough.
Looking at the Fijivillage medal tally, in the boy's division, Suva Grammar has taken over the lead and now have six gold and one silver, Marist is second with 5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze, and in third place is Xavier College.
In the Girls Division ACS have extended their lead with 8 gold Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze, second is Suva Grammar with 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 Bronze and third is Napuka Secondary with 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bonze.
Earlier results saw nineteen year old Amrit Lal of Ratu Navula Secondary who took out the gold medal in the open boys 3000m has dedicated his win to his late father who died the same time last year.
Lal said that his dad passed away just four days before the Coca-Cola Games last year.
Last year, Lal was supposed to take part but decided not to in order to carry out the funeral rites.
However when he passed the finishing line, he knew that his dad would be smiling down on him.
