Three local clubs competing in the Central Coast 7s have qualified for the quarterfinals.
The Yamacia, Daveta and Red Rock side have all qualified for the quarterfinals that will kick off this morning at 10.10am.
Yamacia will clash with New Zealand club The Collage Rifles at 10.50am while Daveta will meet USA based Tiger Rugby at 11.10am.
Red Rock will also face New Zealand club Rangataua at 11.10am.
Tournament organisers have eyed the Yamacia team as one of the sides to beat in the competition.
The Yamacia team manager, Jay Whyte said that they were pleased with yesterday’s pool matches.
He said that they started a little shaky in the first two games but they really showed that they were focused.
Yamacia and Daveta remain undefeated after they won all their pool matches yesterday while Red Rock made a strong come back after losing their first pool match against Wellington 15-7 yesterday.
Yamacia beat Brazil 26-10, SunnybanK 29-17 and Tiger Rugby 22-7 in their last pool match yesterday.
Daveta defeated Tribe 7s 20-14, the College Rifles 31-5 and Manly 7s 28-5.
Red Rock also won their last two matches by defeating Stars Rugby 45-12 and Te Whanau 19-0.
