More than 21,000 people have shown their support to revoke the bus fare increase.

ECREA's director Chantelle Khan said they originally set a target to collect 20,000 signatures and so far more than 21,000 signatures have been collected, with the number expected to increase, as more petition forms are to be received in the next few days.

Khan said the petition was supposed to be handed to government and other stakeholders today, but they are still collecting more forms and that is why they have decided to hand in the petitions next Wednesday.

Khan said the petition forms were handed out in Lami as well as the Suva/Nausori corridor.

Copies of the final petition will be handed in to the Prime Minister's Office, LTA, the Education and Transport Ministry and also to the President's Office next Wednesday.
