Around $300,000 is needed to tackle problems that have led to leptospirosis, dengue and typhoid outbreaks in the Northern Division.
This has been confirmed by Health Ministry Spokesperson, Iliesa Tora who said the Northern Task Team have completed their work and have submitted their recommendations to the ministry which includes larval survey of areas, clean up and spraying campaigns, training and educational programs.
Tora said poor village sanitation, lack of knowledge, poor water supply, poor personal hygiene, ineffective health education and consumption of unprotected food has led to the outbreak of leptospirosis, dengue and typhoid in the Northern Division.
