With the discussion of the finer details of the Draft HIV Prevention and Treatment Decree continuing today by stakeholders, focus on clarifying who the vulnerable in society are remains to be a hot topic.
Aids Taskforce Fiji Project Manager Niraj Singh during discussions revealed that under the Decree, the term vulnerable group, does not take into account those living in an environment or engaging in activities that is or are recognized to increase the risk of infection by or transmission of HIV.
Singh said it does not take into account those who are involved in the sex industry.
The Convention currently underway at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami ends this afternoon.
