The interim administration said the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions General Secretary, Attar Singh should not try to discredit the Interim Education Minister, Netani Sukanaivalu for getting emotional while announcing the shifting of the school holidays.
Interim PM, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said Singh should think of the plight of the students instead of criticizing Sukanaivalu.
Sukanaivalu said maintains that although the FTA has announced that they have called off the strike, all the teachers who went on strike will not be paid for two weeks.
Meanwhile FICTU General Secretary, Attar Singh said the FTA members will definitely go on strike when school reopens.
While addressing the FTA members, Singh also said that Sukanaivalu was emotional while announcing the moving forward of this school holidays in a press conference because his contingency plans had failed.
However Sukanaivalu said Attar Singh and other union leaders are to be blamed for the students not going to school.
