Moturiki is one of the first islands in the Lomaiviti group to be enjoying the project works put together by the Lomaiviti Provincial Council and the Commissioner Eastern's Office.
These projects include building kindergartens, halls, lavatories and conducting sports coaching clinics and this includes volunteers from the UK, Europe and America.
The volunteers spend four to eight weeks living with the Fijian families, and each volunteer pays $500 each to help fund the projects.
They have been in the Lomaiviti group since July 2009.
Group leader Harry Hunter said that the interest came about when they came to Fiji as tourists, and they tried to find ways to give back to the Community.
Hunter added the bond with the villagers is so close that it is a sad day when they return to their countries.
The Volunteer Group plan moves to the island of Batiki in January next year.
