The Kadavu Provincial Council stresses that it has nothing to hide in relation to the deal signed with the interim government for the renting of Kadavu House in Suva.

In a statement, Council Chairman and Director of Kadavu Holdings Limited, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo maintains that all negotiations are done in good faith led by former Public Service Minister Poseci Bune and senior officials.

Nawalowalo said the Lease Agreement for 20 years effective from August 2007 has been signed and sealed and the Interim government must honour the agreement.

Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry revealed in a statement earlier that all rent payment for Kadavu House has now been put on hold and has called for FICAC to investigate how the deal was reached.

However, Nawalowalo said they hope to meet with Chaudhry to clear the air and any doubts on the matter.

The PSC earlier confirmed that $884,000 was paid as rent for Kadavu House for August to December 2007 however, the building remains unoccupied at the moment.
