Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said he has told all the ministers and government MPs that it is not a time to relax and to take it easy as they have to deliver the services that the people of the country expect from a responsible government.

While delivering his maiden speech in parliament, Bainimarama said better days lie ahead as Fiji now has a government that cares for everyone and has genuine love and affection for all Fijians.

He said more details will be released in the 2015 National Budget.

However, one of the main priorities of the government is to improve the lives of ordinary Fijians.

Bainimarama also made a plea to the Opposition.

He said by all means, the Opposition can and should critique government policies but not just oppose for the sake of it.

Bainimarama said everyone in parliament should support all policies that will benefit the people of the country.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said the FijiFirst win did not come as a surprise for him as he knew the wishes of majority of the ordinary Fijians.

He said the people have placed their trust on the new government and he will ensure that they work as hard as they can to deliver government services.
