There will be no kiss and make up with the Australian government if the sanctions imposed against Fiji are not removed by the Tony Abbott led government.

Those are the words of Fijian Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama as the Abbott led government gets ready to announce how it will approach the Fiji sanction issue.

Commodore Bainimarama told NZ's Radio Tarana that Australia's Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop had announced publicly that Australia Fiji relations will improve when the Abbott government comes into power.

He said only time will tell what would happen.

Commodore Bainimarama leaves for the UN General Assembly in New York this weekend.

He is expected to meet Julie Bishop for the first time as Bishop will also attend the UN meeting.
