This has been confirmed by Solicitor General Christopher Pryde who said a comprehensive revision of laws of Fiji has started in the Law Revision Commission Office, the first since 1985.

In a statement, Pryde said volunteers selected from the Government National Youth Service Scheme (or NYSS) have been co-opted to assist in this project.

Eight volunteers have been appointed, four of which are working in the Commission Office while the other four are working in the IT section.

Earlier this year, Cabinet had approved the NYSS in all Government Ministries and Statutory bodies.

The policy is intended to ensure that the volunteers procedure of getting the right people was possible through the NYSS project of the Youth Ministry, which has an employment promotion strategy focusing on human resource development, to increase employment opportunities, incomes and productivity.
