The Ba province is mourning the death of the Tui Nawaka, Ratu Apisai Naevo who passed away yesterday after a short illness.
Preparations are underway for the funeral proceedings for the chiefly burial to the late Ratu Naevo.
Chairman of the Ba province, Tui Tavua, Ratu Ovini Bokini confirmed that news of the Nadi chief's death was relayed to him today from the herald of the chiefly status.
It is understood the burial is expected to be held next week.
