The Minister for Education is calling on all the tertiary institutions to register themselves before the end of this year.
Filipe Bole said that the Higher Education promulgation has now commenced and all higher education institutions are required to apply online by 31st December 2010.
He said any institution that fails to register itself by the given time will be deemed to be operating illegally in Fiji.
Meanwhile, Bole is also calling on students intending to enroll with tertiary institutions to be cautious of which institute they intend to further their education with other than the Fiji National University, TPAF, and University of the South Pacific and the University of Fiji.
The reminder follows a number of complaints from students who have paid a substantial sum for their fees but were not able to attain the relevant qualification because the school has either closed or lacks finance.
