With seven weeks already passing, the Kadivuka Bio Security Taskforce is yet to determine how the termites entered the country.
Spokesperson, Rosa Dalituicama said that their entomologists are trying to determine how the termites entered Lautoka but it is believed that the insects entered through the importation of untreated timber.
However, Dalituicama said that since the introduction of the Bio Security Promulgation 2008, the Taskforce has managed to control the movement of timber in and out of the City.
She added that so far no-one has breached the promulgation.
The three Bio Security Zones in Lautoka are from Tomuka to Tavakubu, from Natabua to Wairebatia and from Naikabulu to Drasa Damn Road.
At the moment, it is understood that the Taskforce will be receiving the much awaited for medicine from Australia that will be used as Bait stations and for the eradication of the termite in the City.
