Police have beefed up security as tension is high in the Momi area after a 39 year old allegedly brutally murdered a two year old girl on Friday night.
Divisional Police Commander Western ASP Luke Rawalai said the case has now been transferred to the Lautoka court today.
He also confirmed that they have sent a number of officers to the Momi area.
The suspect has been charged with one count of murder, one count of rape and one count of wrongful confinement.
It is alleged the man abducted the girl and later killed her.
A post mortem revealed the 2 year old died of strangulation and had some physical injuries on her body.
