Ten people are missing at sea after the fiber glass boat they were all travelling in, capsized in the Kadavu passage yesterday morning.
Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms the 10 people left Vaca-lea, Kadavu at 8 yesterday morning to sell yaqona in Suva.
Police Command Center in Suva received a call yesterday afternoon from a crew-member that their boat had capsized and the passengers were swimming and looking for shore.
At around 9 last night, Police with the assistance of the Navy went to rescue these people however they could not be spotted.
Police then tried calling these people on the mobile phone which they had received the alert earlier, but the phone remained diverted.
The Police are seeking help from people living in Beqa, Kadavu, Vatulele and other coastal areas to look out for these people.
