The interim government has allocated a total of ten million dollars for disaster relief and road repairs.
Interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry said works are continuing and he is now awaiting a request from the Provincial Development Ministry before deciding on whether additional funds need to be disbursed.
Chaudhry confirms that while the initial assessments are continuing, road repairs and disaster is going ahead.
Meanwhile Chaudhry said he has not been informed on whether any foreign countries have decided to provide some aid due to Tropical Cyclone Gene.
Interim Foreign Affairs Minister, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has been holding talks with the diplomatic community on the effects of Cyclone Gene over the past few days.
