Nausori Police have taken into custody a man in relation to the theft and burning of a temple storeroom in Nausori early Sunday morning.

Speaking to Fijivillage Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Ramesh Chand said a 9 member police team had been assigned to carry out investigations and police are following some leads.

He added that police are looking for evidence and more people are expected to be questioned soon.

Kali Mata Mandir in Korociriciri, Sanatan Ramayan Mandir and the Nag Baba Temple in Raralevu were broken into on early Sunday morning and the thieves then tried to burn down the storeroom of the Nag Baba.

Men broke into the three temples and stole assorted jewelry and money which was offered during prayers during the weekend.
